The Vancouver International Youth Film Festival started in the year 2017.
Sharing Great Films
VIYFF started as the sister festival of the Vancouver Chinese Film Festival. After 5 years of building a successful multi-cultural film festival, the team behind the VCFF created the VIYFF to invite young filmmakers from all cultural backgrounds to screen their projects. We strive to present audiences with great films unlike anything they’ve seen before.
Community Building
We strive to give talented young local filmmakers the opportunities and connections that they deserve. VIYFF allows independent filmmakers to share their filmmaking achievements on the big screen with a large audience. Filmmakers who participate in the festival get the chance to be awarded prizes based on deliberations from a jury of professionals in the local film industry.
