Our goal is to train and inspire youth and emerging filmmakers by providing hands-on training with professionals within the film industry.
Training includes but is not limited to directing, cinematography editing, lighting, scriptwriting, acting, costume design, production design, set construction and production management. We will work closely with dream-makers to attain their future goals of working within the film industry. By participating at our VIYFF 72H workshop we provide professional support, hands-on training and development in a condensed 3 day program. It is our goal that this training program will directly support the film industry with young knowledgeable talents to aid in the future stability of the BC film industry.
Vancouver is known as the “North Hollywood” which plays a very important and extensive role in the world’s film industry. We believe that creating and inspiring knowledgeable new filmmakers within BC communities will amplify the future success of the industry here and therefore should be recognized as a priority. Supporting existing and upcoming development of a Burnaby filming studio which is forecasted to be completed in 2025 as well as future filming projects in BC will be a necessary step in further developing the growth and stability of the filming industry locally. The market will need the support of new talents to continually provide the industry with the resources filmmakers need to complete their projects within budget in BC. We believe supporting localized talents will help the industry attain their future goals.
